PDP-Laban asks Koko Pimentel to stop using party name in impeachment letter

The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) has asked Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III to stop using the party's name in his impeachment letter against Vice President Sara Duterte.

PDP-Laban asserts that Pimentel is no longer affiliated with the party and has no right to use its letterhead, citing a 2023 Commission on Elections (Comelec) ruling that recognized the faction led by former President Rodrigo Duterte as the legitimate PDP-Laban.

The party condemned Pimentel's "misuse" and "illegal use" of the PDP-Laban name in his official letter to Senate President Francis Escudero.

PDP-Laban clarified that it "vehemently opposes" the impeachment of the Vice President and expressed concern that Pimentel's use of the PDP-Laban name could mislead the public about their stance.

The party also stated that Pimentel has transferred to the Nacionalista Party and is running for Representative of Marikina under its banner.

They kindly requested the Senator to refrain from misusing the PDP-Laban name and misleading the Filipino people about his current party affiliation.
