PDEA destroys P6.16M marijuana in Benguet

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives discovered and destroyed 30,800 fully-grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P6.16 million in Kibungan, Benguet.

The operation took place from January 27 to January 28 in Barangay Tacadang, where the marijuana plants were found in two separate lots covering a total land area of 3,850 square meters.

The first plantation had 6,800 plants worth P1.36 million, while the second site contained 24,000 plants valued at P4.80 million.

PDEA CAR Public Information Officer Rosel Sarmiento noted that the plantations were hidden in the mountains and not easily accessible.

No cultivators were arrested during the operation.
