PDEA seizes P397M shabu, marijuana in Cordillera

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P397 million worth of shabu and marijuana in the Cordillera region during the first quarter of the year.

This was accomplished through 742 anti-illegal drugs operations, including marijuana eradication, buy-busts, and the execution of search warrants.

A total of 101 individuals were apprehended, with 69 identified as drug pushers and 30 for drug possession.

The agency also dismantled two drug dens and apprehended two visitors.

In the Cordillera region, 798 out of 1,178 barangays have been declared drug-cleared, while 382 are drug-free and 18 remain drug-affected.

PDEA's current challenge is to address these 18 drug-affected barangays where identified drug personalities reside, with two barangays noted to have marijuana plantations and six with active drug personalities.
