The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has enhanced its manual encoding process for Covid-19 RT-PCR tests to improve the experience of returning overseas Filipinos (OFWs).
To streamline the process, the PCG has deployed additional personnel to oversee testing at NAIA's One-Stop Shops and assigned IT teams to develop an automated encoding system.
A focal person has been designated for each partner laboratory to facilitate quicker coordination and ensure test results are transmitted to the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) within one to two days.
The BOQ will then notify ROFs of their results via email.
This initiative comes after the PCG reverted to manual encoding due to the Philippine Red Cross's cessation of PhilHealth-covered Covid-19 tests.
