PCG spots 4 Chinese vessels near Panatag Shoal

Four Chinese coast guard vessels were sighted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in and around Panatag Shoal during an aerial surveillance mission.

Two of the Chinese coast guard vessels were observed within the shoal, while the other two were seen outside its vicinity.

Additionally, two Chinese militia vessels were also noted in the area outside the shoal.

The PCG conducted the surveillance using a Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft, with BRP Gabriela Silang and BRP Suluan also present to ensure the safety of Filipino fishermen.

Approximately 30 to 40 Filipino fishing boats were also observed in the waters during the overflight.
