BRP Teresa Magbanua to join 2nd trilateral maritime exercise in Japan
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel BRP Teresa Magbanua will join the 2nd trilateral maritime exercise with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Japan Coast Guard (JCG) in Kagoshima, Japan, from June 16 to June 19.
A send-off ceremony for the BRP Teresa Magbanua was held on Friday, June 6, in Manila.
The exercise will include search and rescue drills, communications exercises, and maritime law enforcement training.
During the exercise, the PCG will observe the JCG's vessel management best practices and technology, as well as the USCG's law enforcement skills.
The BRP Teresa Magbanua is expected to dock in Japan on June 12 and return to the Philippines on June 25.
To maintain maritime security in Philippine waters, other PCG vessels will replace the BRP Teresa Magbanua during its deployment.
