PCG intensifies patrols after shabu haul

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has intensified maritime patrols and aerial surveillance in Pangasinan waters following the discovery of one ton of shabu.

This operation was directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., with the deployment of BRP Cabra and two high-speed response boats.

Aerial drone surveillance is also being utilized to locate any remaining floating contraband.

Since June 5, several sacks of shabu, valued in the billions, have been recovered not only in Pangasinan but also in Zambales and Ilocos Sur.

Captain Mark Larsen Mariano of the PCG District Northwestern Luzon has pledged a relentless recovery effort, working alongside anti-drug agents, police, local governments, and fishing communities.

Mariano emphasized that the Ilocos region must not become a conduit for transnational crimes and vowed to protect Filipinos from such dangers.
