PCG demands Chinese vessels keep distance from Filipino fishermen

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has reiterated its demand for Chinese Coast Guard vessels to maintain a safe distance from Filipino fishing boats operating in Philippine waters off Zambales.

The PCG vessel BRP Magbanua was on patrol ensuring the safety of Filipino fishermen and distributing food packs.

The PCG stressed that the presence of CCG-3304 poses a significant threat to the safety of fishermen and their vessels, and emphasized Philippine sovereignty over the waters.

Last week, the PCG successfully repelled CCG-3304, which is now estimated to be 100-105 nautical miles away from Zambales.

The PCG is also monitoring three other Chinese vessels in the vicinity: CCG-5901 (the 'monster ship') at 103.63 nautical miles, CCG 3502 at 115.22 nautical miles, and CCG 3103 at 134.10 nautical miles from Zambales.
