Gerald Anderson receives SAR medal from PCG

Actor Gerald Anderson was awarded a Search and Rescue medal by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for his volunteer efforts during Super Typhoon Carina.

Anderson, an Army reservist and PCG Auxiliary Commander, rescued a family including a child amid flooding at Barangay Santo Domingo in Quezon City.

PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan commended Anderson for his selfless service at a ceremony held at the PCG headquarters in Port Area, Manila.

This was not the first time Anderson joined rescue efforts, as he also participated during Typhoon Ondoy.
