PCC refers Bulacan flood control bid-rigging findings to DOJ

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) has referred its initial findings of bid-rigging in flood control projects in Bulacan to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The PCC received referrals from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) last month regarding alleged anti-competitive conduct.

The alleged bid-rigging involves companies such as St. Timothy Construction Corp., Wawao Builders, IM Construction Corp., SYMS Construction Trading, and Sunwest Inc.

Officials and employees of the DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office and Regional Office IV-B are also implicated.

The PCC found possible violations of the Philippine Competition Act which prohibits bid-rigging.

This development occurs as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has established the Independent Commission for Infrastructure to investigate infrastructure project anomalies over the past decade.
