PBGen Medina faces charges for disobeying orders and expensive footwear

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has filed administrative charges against Police Brigadier General Jezebel Imelda Medina for allegedly disobeying lawful orders and displaying expensive luxury footwear while in uniform.

The charges include Less Grave Neglect of Duty and Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer.

Medina, as the former director of the PNP Health Service, is accused of refusing to submit a psychiatric and psychological examination report for a patrolman involved in seditious vlogging.

NAPOLCOM stated that this refusal infringes upon its authority over the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The second charge relates to Medina's public appearance in PNP uniform wearing footwear reportedly valued at P70,599, which is close to a month's salary for her rank.

NAPOLCOM vice chairperson and executive officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan noted that this act raises serious concerns on modest living and ethical conduct required of all public servants.
