PBBM vows more assets for PCG modernization

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. pledged continued government support for the modernization of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), vowing to acquire more vessels, aircraft, and equipment to boost its capabilities.

He praised the PCG's courage and commitment to duty, citing their vital role in rescue operations, maritime safety, and national security, especially amid increasing challenges in the West Philippine Sea.

Marcos highlighted the PCG's accomplishments, including their response to natural disasters like the Cebu earthquake and their efforts in confiscating illegal drugs and smuggled goods.

He also emphasized the importance of improving training, facilities, and logistics to ensure the dignity and welfare of PCG personnel, mentioning the ongoing development of facilities such as the PCG General Hospital.

The President reiterated the importance of regaining public trust through transparency and dedication to the PCG's mission of safeguarding lives and sovereignty.

The PCG celebrated its 124th founding anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to service and purpose.
