Marcos Jr. vows accountability for water service providers

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. vowed to hold accountable water service providers and their joint venture partners for widespread service interruptions affecting millions of consumers.

In his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), Marcos expressed disappointment with the current state of water services.

He stated that the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) is taking measures to address the poor service from water districts and their joint venture partners.

Marcos assured that LWUA will work to restore proper water service and make prices more affordable for Filipinos.

The President emphasized the importance of accountability for those who have failed in their duty to provide this essential public service.

Earlier this year, LWUA probed complaints against Primewater Infrastructure Corp., which has agreements with numerous water districts, and some of these districts have expressed a desire to rescind their contracts.
