PBBM to visit India Aug 4-8 to boost ties

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. will visit India from August 4 to 8, 2025, to strengthen the Philippines-India partnership.

The visit aims to expand defense, security, economic, and business ties, along with people-to-people exchanges.

Marcos Jr. is scheduled to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

The leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern.

At least six bilateral agreements are expected to be signed across various sectors, including law, culture, science, and technology.

The President will also travel to Bangalore for business meetings and will be accompanied by First Lady Liza Marcos, Cabinet members, and business representatives.

This visit marks the first state visit by a Philippine head of state to India in two decades and coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The President is expected to meet with the Filipino community in New Delhi upon arrival.
