PBBM tells PCO OIC Ruiz to continue his job

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has instructed Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Officer-in-Charge Secretary Jay Ruiz to continue performing his duties.

This directive was confirmed by PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, who stated that the President told Ruiz to "continue his job."

The Commission on Appointments (CA) had previously deferred the deliberation on Ruiz's appointment as PCO chief due to a lack of material time.

Castro clarified that this development will not impede the PCO's ongoing campaign against fake news and disinformation, emphasizing that fighting fake news is a directive regardless of who leads the office.

Three media groups have expressed support for Ruiz, citing his professionalism, journalistic integrity, and capacity to lead government messaging.
