PBBM commends LGUs for swift response to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. praised local government units (LGUs) for their swift and proactive responses to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, highlighting their role as crucial first responders who have saved many lives.

He reassured that the national government is providing all necessary assistance to LGUs, with essential supplies and equipment already dispatched via a C-130 plane.

The President urged local chief executives to step up during challenging times, recognizing their compassion, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking in disaster response.

Marcos reminded government officials to consider the plight of those affected by the storm, such as individuals still wading through waist-deep water without basic necessities, to remain motivated.

He also noted that Tropical Storm Kristine exemplifies the increasing frequency and intensity of storms due to climate change.
