PBBM orders expansion of West Cebu Industrial Park to 540 hectares

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the expansion of the West Cebu Industrial Park (WCIP)-Special Economic Zone to 540 hectares by designating seven parcels of land in Barangays Arpili and Buanoy, Balamban, Cebu.

This expansion, in line with Proclamation No. 1105 issued on December 4, is governed by Republic Act No. 7916, or the Special Economic Zone Act of 1995.

The WCIP-Special Economic Zone is a collaboration between Philippine conglomerate Aboitiz Group and Japanese firm Tsuneishi Holdings.

It hosts various global enterprises and employs over 14,000 skilled Filipinos.

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority provides fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to registered enterprises.
