President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to coordinate with Malaysian and Singaporean authorities regarding the air assets of former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co.
CAAP has written to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore concerning two AgustaWestland helicopters in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and a Gulfstream aircraft in Singapore.
These aircraft are subject to a freeze order issued by the Court of Appeals, requested by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), prohibiting any disposition while the order is in effect.
The AMLC had previously issued freeze orders over P3.9 billion worth of assets of government officials linked to the flood control mess, including 230 bank accounts, 15 insurance policies, two helicopters, and one airplane.
