DBM: Nat'l disaster fund balance at P8B as Cebu earthquake response begins
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. ordered government agencies to mobilize assistance for Cebu following a magnitude-6.9 earthquake that jolted Bogo City.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) urged agencies to promptly activate their Quick Response Funds (QRF) for relief and recovery programs.
As of October 1, 2025, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (NDRRMF) has a balance of P8.008 billion to support these efforts.
The NDRRMF can also serve as an additional funding source for the QRFs of agencies when their balances reach 50%.
Agencies can request replenishment of their QRF from the DBM once their balance is reduced to 50%.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have been fully mobilized, prioritizing search and rescue, maintaining peace and order, and preventing looting.
