PBBM monitors typhoon relief efforts in Liloan, Cebu

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. visited Liloan, Cebu to personally monitor relief efforts for families affected by Typhoon Tino.

He conducted an aerial inspection of ravaged lands before visiting Tiltilon Elementary School in Barangay Cotcot, an evacuation center housing 126 families or approximately 500 individuals whose classrooms were destroyed.

President Marcos distributed essential supplies such as family food packs, health kits, hygiene kits, and sleeping kits provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which also ensured hot meals were served.

The Department of Health (DOH) - Central Visayas conducted rapid health assessments, provided free medical consultations, and administered routine vaccinations for children.

The DOH also performed Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) assessments to guarantee the safety of water at the evacuation site.

Typhoon Tino has killed at least 188 people in the Philippines, with more than a hundred still missing, prompting Marcos to declare a state of national calamity.

The Philippines is bracing for another tropical cyclone, Severe Tropical Storm "Uwan," expected to intensify into a super typhoon and potentially hit northern or central Luzon.
