President Marcos Jr. inspects P3.1B Bucana Bridge in Davao City

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected the newly constructed Bucana Bridge in Davao City, also known as the Davao River Bridge, which is partly funded by China's Official Development Assistance.

The P3.1 billion, 1.3-kilometer bridge is expected to accommodate up to 14,000 vehicles daily and significantly reduce travel time from nearly two hours to just 20-25 minutes.

President Marcos announced that the bridge will be opened to the public on December 15th, providing relief during the Christmas holidays.

This bridge links Barangay 76-A Bucana and Matina Aplaya and is part of the larger bypass construction project slated for completion in 2027.

The construction of the bridge began in 2023 and features a 480-meter, six-span extradosed structure with approach roads, a pedestrian walkway, and a shared-use path for cyclists.
