Marcos Jr. inspects Calax interchange, vows timely completion

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected the ongoing construction of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax) Governor's Drive Interchange on Friday.

He vowed that the expressway will be completed on time, stating, "We will ensure that the Cavite-Laguna Expressway will be completed on time for Filipinos going home to their families and for workers who hope to have more time to rest and recover."

The Governor's Drive Interchange is currently 44 percent complete and is targeted for full operation by the third quarter of 2025.

The 44.6-kilometer, four-lane expressway aims to improve connectivity between Cavite and Laguna and will connect to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) and South Luzon Expressway (SLeX).

Once operational, it is expected to decongest Governor's Drive and ease traffic on major Cavite thoroughfares, benefiting up to 95,000 motorists daily.

The project is also anticipated to boost trade, tourism, and economic activity in the region.
