PBBM surprised by VP Sara's claim they were never friends

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed dismay and surprise upon hearing Vice President Sara Duterte's statement that they were never friends, admitting he might have been "deceived" in his perception of their relationship.

Marcos stated that he is "a little dismayed" to hear Duterte does not consider him a friend and expressed confusion over her remark, as he had believed they shared a friendly bond.

Vice President Duterte had previously stated that she was never friends with President Marcos, though she mentioned having a close relationship with his sister, Senator Imee Marcos.

Duterte, who resigned as Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) in August, cited alleged meddling by some lawmakers in the DepEd's budget as a reason for her departure from the Cabinet.

President Marcos Jr. also stated it would be "unfair" to assign Duterte as the Philippines' caretaker whenever he is out of the country, as she is "not part of the administration anymore."
