PBBM congratulates new SKorean President Lee Jae-Myung

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated Lee Jae-Myung on his election as the new President of the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Marcos Jr. conveyed his congratulations on behalf of the Filipino people, emphasizing the value the Philippines places on its strong relationship with South Korea.

He expressed anticipation for future collaboration with President Lee to further enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The Philippines and South Korea elevated their ties to a Strategic Partnership in October last year, aiming to deepen cooperation in maritime security, climate change, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.

Lee Jae-Myung secured the presidency in a closely watched snap election that drew regional and international attention, following the impeachment of his predecessor President Yoon Suk Yeol.
