Magnolia faces top seed NorthPort in PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs

The PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs begin this week with the quarterfinals featuring four exciting matchups, including a highly anticipated clash between Magnolia and top-seed NorthPort.

Magnolia, entering the quarterfinals as the eighth seed, managed to secure a spot in the Last-8 by winning their last four games after a challenging 3-6 start.

Forward Zav Lucero, a former NorthPort player, expressed his focus on the upcoming game, stating that friendships and past affiliations will be set aside to achieve victory.

Lucero, who was named PBA Press Corps Player of the Week, highlighted that Magnolia has overcome four do-or-die games already and is prepared for the next two crucial matches to advance.

NorthPort, holding a twice-to-beat advantage, finished the elimination rounds at the top of the standings with a 9-3 record.

The quarterfinals will feature other matchups such as Rain or Shine versus Converge, Ginebra versus Meralco, and TNT versus Converge, with NorthPort and TNT also possessing twice-to-beat advantages.
