Pasig court denies Quiboloy's hospital arrest plea for second time

A Pasig court has denied doomsday preacher Apollo Quiboloy's request for hospital arrest for the second time.

The Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 rejected the plea, stating there was no sufficient basis or merit to allow Quiboloy to remain at the Philippine Heart Center or The Medical City.

Quiboloy had sought hospital confinement due to symptoms like shortness of breath, fever, muscle pain, and cough, but the court noted that his attending physician had cleared him for discharge and that his medical needs were adequately attended to while in the custody of the Pasig City Jail.

The RTC is handling the non-bailable qualified human trafficking case against Quiboloy, who is also facing multiple indictments in the United States, including sex trafficking, conspiracy, and immigration fraud.

Last year, the court also denied a similar motion from the Quiboloy camp.
