Partygoer apologizes to Napolcom for PNP uniform costume

Daryll Isidro, a Halloween partygoer, appeared before the National Police Commission (Napolcom) to apologize for wearing a Philippine National Police (PNP) uniform as a costume.

The incident, which went viral online, showed Isidro in a sleeveless PNP uniform at a party, sparking outrage among police personnel and netizens.

Isidro stated he deeply respects the police force and did not intend to disrespect their uniform, viewing officers as "defenders and superheroes."

Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. called the act an "outright insult" to the dignity of the service.

Napolcom Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Rafael Calinisan accepted Isidro's apology, tore up a show-cause order, and decided not to pursue charges.

Calinisan warned Isidro against repeating the act and advised the public against using police uniforms as costumes, stating it is illegal.
