Parañaque dept heads donate salaries to help city residents

Parañaque City local government department heads have initiated a 'bayanihan' by donating their April salaries to provide additional funding for the city's poor residents during the enhanced community quarantine.

City Treasurer Anthony Pulmano spearheaded the initiative, which received support from Mayor Edwin Olivarez.

Vice-Mayor Rico Golez and City Administrator Atty. Fernando Soriano also contributed their one-month salaries.

Other department heads who donated include those from the Business Permit and Licensing Office, City Accountant, City Health Office, City Budget Office, City General Services Office, City Engineer, City Assessor, City Building Official, and City Legal Office, along with the ABC President.

Mayor Olivarez's donation aligns with President Rodrigo Duterte's 'Bayanihan To Heal As One' act.

The collected funds will be used for additional family relief packages or other forms of aid to the needy.

The department heads decided to launch this initiative to assist city residents who are suffering due to the ongoing crisis.
