PAOCC files human trafficking charges vs 22 in POGO raid

Twenty foreigners and two Filipinos apprehended in a raid on a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Parañaque City have undergone inquest proceedings for qualified human trafficking charges.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) confirmed that the operation was a scam hub involved in investment and love scams, with the arrested foreign nationals facilitating the illegal activities.

During the raid, 453 individuals were arrested, including 137 Chinese nationals.

The charges are for qualified human trafficking, as the arrested foreign nationals were facilitating the operations and had committed multiple violations, including presenting incomplete documents.

Complainants include three Vietnamese women and one Filipino woman who testified about the alleged love scam scheme and who were promised customer service representative jobs but were made to work for the POGO, scamming people.

Two Filipinas who worked at the hub had also previously pointed out the bosses running the illegal gaming operations.
