Pangilinan sees Mindanao as key to PH food security

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan has emphasized Mindanao's potential as the Philippines' "food basket" to achieve food security and reduce prices.

He stated that focusing on Mindanao could help meet domestic demands and increase agricultural exports.

Pangilinan highlighted the need for adequate attention, funding, and logistical support for the region's agricultural sector.

He visited Agusan del Sur, specifically Bayugan City, noting its crucial role in strengthening agriculture in the province.

Pangilinan pledged to work with local governments for honest governance, affordable food, and stronger support for farmers.

He also visited Pigdaulan, Butuan City, engaging with agricultural cooperative leaders and sharing his past work on the Sagip Saka program.
