Kiko Pangilinan demands apology from Net25 for involving Sharon Cuneta in Senate probe

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan is demanding a public apology from Net25 for involving his wife, actress Sharon Cuneta, in a Senate inquiry regarding anomalous flood control projects.

Anchor Nelson Lubao has since apologized to Cuneta on behalf of the program "Sa Ganang Mamamayan" for the pain and distress caused.

During an interview with Senator Rodante Marcoleta on August 29, a Net25 anchor suggested that Cuneta should ask Pangilinan to step down from the Senate blue ribbon committee.

This statement was made after Marcoleta felt insulted by Pangilinan's suggestion that a separate body should investigate the same subject, implying the committee was incompetent.

Pangilinan criticized the TV network for disrespecting and hurting Cuneta's feelings, questioning if the intention was to generate viewership by involving her in the issue.
