Palauig murder suspect killed in shootout with police

A primary suspect in a double murder case in Palauig, Zambales, was killed in an armed encounter with police in Iba town on September 27.

The encounter occurred while police were serving an arrest warrant to another individual, identified as Alias Akeha or Alias Queen, who was driving a Toyota Corolla Altis.

The primary suspect sped away and rammed a police asset's vehicle before crashing his car.

While the primary suspect was apprehended, the secondary suspect, "Diking," fled on foot with a firearm.

During a follow-up operation, "Diking" allegedly fired at the police, who returned fire, fatally wounding him.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

"Diking" had previously been arrested for the Palauig double murder and illegal firearms possession but had posted bail.
