Palace OKs 10-year plan to boost creative industries employing 7M Filipinos

Malacañang has approved the Philippine Creative Industries Development Plan (PCIDP) 2025-2034, a ten-year strategy to support the country's creative sector which employs over seven million Filipinos.

The plan, adopted through Memorandum Circular 103 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on October 7, aims to strengthen the sector, including music, film, design, crafts, and digital media.

President Marcos highlighted that the national development plan acknowledges the creative industries as significant contributors to job generation and economic value.

The Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC) will spearhead the implementation of the PCIDP and will review the plan every three years.

The PCIDC formulated the PCIDP 2025-2034 through validation workshops and stakeholder consultations held from 2023 to 2024.

These consultations aimed to ensure the strategies align with the government's goal to position the Philippines as Asia's Premier Creative Hub by 2030.

All government agencies and the private sector are directed to support the implementation of the PCIDP and its associated programs and projects.
