Palace mum on Duterte's knowledge of Quiboloy's whereabouts

Malacañang on Tuesday declined to confirm if President Rodrigo Duterte is aware of the location of his friend and spiritual adviser, Apollo Quiboloy, who is wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for labor trafficking charges.

Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles stated that any communication regarding the matter should go through diplomatic channels and that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has already addressed the issue.

The FBI is seeking Quiboloy for his alleged involvement in a scheme that brought church members to the US on fraudulent visas, forcing them to solicit donations for a fake charity to fund church operations and the extravagant lifestyles of its leaders.

The FBI has encouraged individuals with information on Quiboloy's whereabouts to report to the nearest American embassy.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra had previously mentioned that the DOJ would issue an immigration lookout bulletin order against Quiboloy if a complainant requested it, but no such request had been received yet.
