Palace diverts intl flights from Mactan-Cebu to NAIA

Malacañang has ordered all international flights bound for Mactan-Cebu International Airport to be diverted to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from May 29 to June 5.

This directive was issued by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea based on the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

The diversion aims to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Domestic flights, cargo flights (incoming and outgoing), and departing commercial international flights are excluded from this order.

The memorandum emphasizes the strict enforcement of existing national testing and quarantine protocols, overriding any contrary local government unit (LGU) protocols.

The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) advised affected passengers to coordinate with their respective airlines.
