PAL Express plane stall cancels 9 flights in Busuanga

Several flights bound for Busuanga Airport in Coron, Palawan were canceled or delayed on Friday due to a PAL Express aircraft stalling on the runway after landing.

PAL Express flight GAP2961 from Manila experienced a technical issue shortly after landing at 7:47 a.m., preventing it from moving off the runway.

A total of nine flights from CebGo and PAL Express were canceled, one was diverted, and another was delayed.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) issued a Notice to Airmen and is coordinating with PAL Express and the Philippine Air Force for the immediate removal of the aircraft.

CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario instructed airport management to expedite the clearing process and to coordinate with other airlines for passenger assistance and flight adjustments.

Passengers with cancelled flights were given options to rebook their tickets within 60 days, convert the value into travel credits, or request a refund.

While commercial flights were affected, the runway remained open for helicopter operations.
