PAL, Cebu Pacific advise 3-hour airport arrival for domestic flights

Local air carriers, Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific, are advising passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their domestic flights due to expected long queues and the implementation of strict physical distancing measures.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna explained that passengers should allow extra time for each step of their travel, from check-in to boarding, as physical distancing will be observed throughout the process.

Cebu Pacific director for corporate communications Charo Logarta-Lagamon echoed this advice, stating that the travel process will now take considerably longer than before the COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure passengers keep their masks on, Cebu Pacific will no longer serve snacks or refreshments on board, only providing bottled water.

PAL is set to resume domestic passenger flights on June 3 to Cebu, Davao, Dumaguete, and Cagayan de Oro, while Cebu Pacific has already restarted flights to select domestic destinations.

However, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has ordered airlines to halt ticket sales pending the Inter-Agency Task Force's (IATF) approval of specific domestic air routes for the June resumption.
