PAL backs DOT's proposed green lane for vaccinated travelers

Philippine Airlines (PAL) supports the Department of Tourism's proposed "green lane" policy, which would allow fully vaccinated international travelers shorter quarantine periods.

PAL President and COO Gilbert Santa Maria stated that this policy would significantly help the country's aviation sector recover by allowing entry from nations with high vaccination rates.

He highlighted that many passengers arriving from the United States have already completed their vaccinations, making them eligible for the proposed green lane.

Santa Maria also suggested that the Philippines could welcome more travelers from countries like Singapore, Australia, Israel, and Korea, which have favorable epidemiological situations.

PAL cited the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's updated guidelines, which no longer require fully vaccinated travelers arriving from international destinations to self-quarantine.

The airline believes the green lane policy would boost business while maintaining the safety of the flying public.
