PAGCOR remits additional P6 billion to OP

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has remitted an additional P6 billion to the Office of the President (OP), bringing its total contribution to the OP to P14.5 billion.

This latest remittance was released on April 13 and is intended to fund requirements related to the state of public health emergency and the enhanced community quarantine.

PAGCOR's previous remittances to the OP this year include P6 billion on March 24, P2 billion on March 11, and P500 million on March 1.

In addition to its contributions to the OP, PAGCOR also remitted P12 billion in cash dividends to the National Treasury on March 23.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo stated that the remittances are in line with the agency's mandate to finance socio-civic projects and infrastructure.

Domingo emphasized that despite financial losses due to suspended gaming operations, PAGCOR is committed to supporting the government during the ongoing crisis.
