PAF airlifts telco equipment, relief goods to Catanduanes

Two Philippine Air Force (PAF) transport aircraft brought equipment for telecommunications restoration and relief supplies to Catanduanes.

The PAF, in coordination with PLDT-Smart Communications and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), aims to restore telecommunications services in the province.

One PAF C-130 aircraft transported 1,400 boxes of food packs, 82 sets of tents from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and seven communications equipment, one roll cable wire, two antennas, and one generator set from the 9th Infantry Division.

Another PAF C-295 aircraft delivered 1,000 sacks of food packs from the volunteer non-government organization Go Share.

The damage assessment in Catanduanes and Albay is ongoing, according to NDRRMC executive director Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad.
