Michael Pacquiao files COC for GenSan council seat

Michael Stephen Pacquiao, son of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, is running for a seat in the General Santos City council under the People's Champ Movement (PCM) party.

The 22-year-old rapper filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in GenSan on Saturday, October 5.

He stated his focus will be on education, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

Michael was inspired by his father to enter politics, though he emphasized it was his own decision with his own goals.

Manny and Jinky Pacquiao accompanied their son when he filed his COC.

His aunt, Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao, and uncle, Alberto 'Bobby' Pacquiao, are also seeking reelection in their respective positions.

Manny Pacquiao is among the senatorial candidates endorsed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the 2025 elections.
