Pacquiao wing slams Cusi group over Sara Duterte VP pick

The political faction of Senator Manny Pacquiao within the PDP-Laban party, jointly headed by Senators Manny Pacquiao and Aquilino Pimentel III, criticized the wing led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi for adopting Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as its vice-presidential bet.

PDP-Laban (Pimentel wing) vice president Lutgardo Barbo accused the Cusi group of desperation and insincerity, highlighting Duterte's previous rejections and criticisms of the party.

Barbo stated that the Cusi wing's move demonstrates their superficiality and desire to cling to power.

The Cusi faction had announced their adoption of Sara Duterte, claiming she would ensure the continuity of President Duterte's programs, despite her running under the Lakas-CMD party.

As the campaign period approaches, the Cusi wing still lacks a presidential candidate.

The Pacquiao faction affirmed that Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza is the legitimate vice-presidential candidate of the genuine PDP-Laban party, running alongside presidential aspirant Manny Pacquiao, who filed his candidacy under the PROMDI party.
