Pacquiao urges presidential bets to join Comelec debates

Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao stated that Filipinos should not anticipate accountability and good governance from politicians who refuse to participate in debates.

Pacquiao expressed concern that candidates who avoid scrutiny might be less answerable for their actions if elected, as they were chosen by the populace despite potential flaws.

He urged candidates, particularly those vying for the presidency, to cease making excuses and instead engage in face-to-face debates organized by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Pacquiao emphasized that the public has a right to understand not only the government platforms of all candidates but also their character as potential leaders and policy implementers.
