Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is set to face Yordenis Ugas for the WBA welterweight title after Errol Spence Jr. withdrew due to an eye injury.

Ugas was elevated from "regular" to "super" welterweight champion after the WBA denied Pacquiao's appeal for reinstatement last month.

Pacquiao questioned the WBA's decision to award the title to Ugas, stating, "The only way to win a championship is inside the ring".

Ugas, who has won 26 of his 30 professional fights with 12 knockouts, is currently on a three-fight win streak.

Despite the short notice, Ugas expressed confidence that Pacquiao cannot knock him out, while Pacquiao's trainer predicted a knockout victory.

The fight will be broadcast on free TV on Sunday, August 22, and can also be streamed on Upstream.ph for P400.
