PACC probe into PhilHealth corruption finds systemic flaws

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Greco Belgica stated that no one will be spared in the investigation into alleged fund irregularities at PhilHealth.

He emphasized that any government officials proven guilty of corruption should be dismissed and prosecuted.

The PACC initiated its probe into PhilHealth in May, following allegations of overpricing for COVID-19 test kits and questionable liquidations by executive employees.

A partial report on the PACC's investigation, identifying officials and positions vulnerable to corruption as well as misdoings, is ready for submission.

Belgica noted that there are systemic flaws within PhilHealth that allow corruption to persist, and confirmed that issues in the state insurer's IT system and legal services were part of their findings.

These findings will be presented to the public depending on the President's instructions.
