Two arrested, P90M shabu seized at Matnog Port

Authorities apprehended two individuals and seized approximately 18 kilograms of suspected illegal drugs, estimated to be worth P90 million, at the Matnog Port in Sorsogon.

The operation was a result of intelligence indicating a vehicle transporting narcotics from the Visayas to Manila.

A joint operation involving PDEA Sorsogon, PDEA NCR, and the Matnog Sorsogon Police led to the successful confiscation of the contraband.

The seized items included 10 kilos of suspected shabu valued at P50 million and eight bricks of narcotics worth P40 million.

Also confiscated were three cellphones and two ID cards as evidence.

The arrested suspects, Kabilan Yusop Arsadc and Tato Kumpi Jehamin, both from Maguindanao, are currently detained and face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
