P850 million worth of shabu seized in Pangasinan anti-drug op; 2 arrested

Authorities confiscated an estimated P850 million worth of suspected shabu during a high-impact anti-drug operation in Barangay Polong, Bugallon, Pangasinan.

The joint operation, conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), resulted in the seizure of approximately 125 kilograms of the illegal substance.

The shabu was reportedly concealed within plastic tea bags and loaded inside a van.

Two high-value targets were arrested during the operation: a 40-year-old Chinese national, identified as alias "Monkey" from Cavite City, and a 54-year-old Filipino driver, identified as alias "Gardo" from Zamboanga City.

Authorities also recovered a van, a mobile phone, and marked buy-bust money used for the sting operation.

The two arrested individuals will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, potentially facing life imprisonment and a substantial fine.
