Bacolod City police seize P5.8M in illegal drugs in two days

Authorities in Bacolod City confiscated approximately PHP5.8 million worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations conducted on July 3 and 4.

In a significant bust in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Wednesday night, police apprehended two individuals, George Jayme Jr., 49, from Murcia, Negros Occidental, and Dharryl Escanuela, 41, from Olongapo City, seizing shabu valued at PHP5.1 million.

The operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport resulted in the confiscation of 775 grams of shabu, sourced outside Negros Occidental.

Police Chief Major Eugene Tolentino stated that the two suspects were a high-value individual and a street-level individual.

Tolentino mentioned it took years to monitor the younger suspect, who was previously arrested for a drug offense.

The following day, a 30-year-old man was apprehended in Barangay Tangub, yielding 108 grams of shabu worth P714,000.

This operation is considered the biggest drug haul of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) so far this month.
