P41.3M shabu seized in Bacolod, largest haul in Western Visayas this year

Philippine police seized 6,080 grams of suspected shabu valued at P41.3 million in Bacolod City on Tuesday night, August 13, making it the largest single drug haul in Western Visayas for 2024.

The operation in Purok Malipayon, Barangay 35, led to the arrest of the primary suspect, 28-year-old John Philip Dellomo, who will face charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs.

Dellomo's father, Lauro Ceralvo Dellomo, 52, and brother, Barangay 35 chief tanod Ronel Mawa Dellomo, 36, were arrested for obstruction of justice after attempting to prevent police from reaching John Philip and trying to disarm an officer.

Authorities recovered the total 6,080 grams of suspected shabu, P60,000 in buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and a digital weighing scale from John Philip.

The seized drugs were intended for sale in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, and Iloilo.
