OVP opens 2 more dorms for HCWs in Manila

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) will open two additional dormitories in Manila to accommodate healthcare workers and other frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic.

One new dormitory is situated along Roxas Boulevard, providing proximity to Manila Doctors Hospital and the Philippine General Hospital.

The second new dormitory is located in Sampaloc, near several key hospitals including Mary Chiles Hospital, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, UST Hospital, and Perpetual Succor Hospital.

Availability for these dormitories will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The OVP has previously launched two dormitories in Quezon City to support frontliners.

These initiatives aim to address the transportation difficulties faced by essential personnel due to the suspension of public transportation under the enhanced community quarantine.

In addition to housing, the OVP provides a free shuttle service for healthcare workers and has been raising funds for essential supplies like personal protective equipment (PPEs).
